Keeping pets safe in severe weather
Preparing a storm kit can help protect your pet if a severe storm or tornado strikes. Here are some things you should have for your pet: A carrier case for smaller animals, extra leashes, pet food, water, a photo of your pet, and microchip and veterinarian information. You should have any medications your pet needs, as well. Be prepared to take your pet to an inner closet, the bathroom, or a storm cellar if the storm conditions deteriorate.
